Developing for my Master Thesis Project & Full-time programmer

The thesis project, developed for Akilian nv company, is a text mining project called RS (Recruiters Solution). We developed a decision support tools for recruiters, HR (Human Resource) directors, knowledge and competence managers, and labor counselors and other professionals. These tools automate, simplify and improve the creation, maintenance and communication of competence profiles and other related information.

The development team owned several members led by the supervisor. My task focused on the extraction of different types of information from CV files, such as skills, functions, education backgrounds and addresses, and then transforming them into a more standardized document called CP (competence profile). Then unreliability evaluation for extracted results is performed to give validate coefficient to results.

After my graduation from K.U.Leuven, I still went on with further development at this company until the beginning of 2006, when I left for Australia.

09/1999 - 09/2004: Shenzhen Kangzhe Industrial Co, Ltd. P.R. China

I worked in the IT department under Shenzhen Kangzhe Industrial Co, Ltd, China. The major responsibility of this department is to develop an online public bidding system and an online Business to Business (B2B) system for the medical and pharmaceutical industry, based on the platform of MS Windows & IIS & SQL Server.

I led a small group of 3 members to develope a remote meeting system using the technology of voice instance communication. We designed it using Rational Rose and developed it using Visual C++. I worked as the leader of this project, doing most of the design work, partial coding work and controlling the progress. This system had been used in our parent company for several meetings.

I worked in a development team, corporated with other designers to design the structure of a B2B web system for the medical and pharmaceutical industry in China. The system has been used by many hospitals, medicine companies, and pharmaceutical manufacturers in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and some other Chinese cities for their businesses. My task was the design of the commercial order system. I was also required to lead the programmer who did the coding work to guarantee the development prograss.

I let a group of 4 members to develope a serial of additional sub-systems for our B2B system. These sub-systems included a server-based program of mobile-message service, an server-based program of online payment system, a client-based ordering system for hospitals, and a client-based commercial bid system. As a leader and a designer, my task focused on system design and progress control.

One of the group jobs was a CAI software for the course of Linear Algebra. My task was the coding work of the calculation module and print module.

Another job was the development of CAI Information Collection System For the High Education Department of the Ministry of Education P.R.CHINA. The system analyzed the information of CAI teaching from Chinese universities based on the requirements of the High Education Department. My task was the coding work of the calculation module and the administration module.
