Volume Determination of Regular and Irregular Objects Using Orthogonal Projection Views.

R.G. van Schyndel, Master of Applied Science 1995, Monash University, Clayton, Australia, 3168

The aim of this thesis was to produce a device which could optically measure hte volume of a loaf of bread to an accuracy of 2 % or better. The method employed was a simple three-camera view with each camera at 90 degrees to the others. Then, like the architect's three views of a house, I could integrate the three view areas to obtain a volume.
