This is a crude calculation of citations merging several Google Scholar searches into one, running Harzing's
Publish or Perish for index calculations and cross-checking with the Firefox H-Index Calculator. Neither
Harzing nor Firefox eliminate all self-citations. This is yet to be weeded out manually.
(Snapshot 17.5.2011 - For live references see also /~hws/publications.html)

Unfortunately the data are dispersed and for 'H Schmidt' naive searches bring up many false positives and
false negatives. Also some papers are split in two or more due to ISO character differences in the data bases
and each attract different citations. These were manually merged too. Google Scholar advanced search has
length restrictions, hence multiple searches and manual exclusions are necessary to eliminate false negatives
and false positives. Harzing's tool permits CSV export which helps consolidate the results of multiple searches.

Summary:

   Total citations: > 1400
   Impact indices: h-index: 20;  g-index: 32;  delta-h:delta-g: 19

(here the delta is the number of citations needed to increase the corresponding index by 1)
